PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - The Kranshoek Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) was launched on Tuesday 8 August, a day before Women's Day, and aptly the women making up the volunteer force were present in numbers.
Michelle Jantjies, coordinator of the NHW, said the women of Kranshoek will conduct daily patrols to combat crime in the area.
A display of uniforms, equipment and promotional material was shown to the guests that included members of the police.
The initiative has been launched in conjunction with Captain Sharon Simons, head of visible policing at the Kwanokuthula Police Station.
"We'll be on patrol on the streets of Kranshoek every day of the week," said Jantjies.
"We are a well-equipped, well-organised non-profit organisation (NPO) and every woman here today is part of our efforts to make the community of Kranshoek crime free."
