KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna police is appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of missing Bertus Scheepers to please contact the investigation officer Captain Carolus Heyser on 044 302 6687 or 082 778 7241.
All information will be dealt with confidentially.
Egbertus Johannes (Bertus) Scheepers was last seen on Thursday 9 May near his residence onThesen Island in Knysna.
Preliminary investigation into his disappearance indicates that he left his residence for work at about 08:00 that morning. He allegedly returned to the island later that day, but was not seen again.
His phone and wallet was found in his home.
Scheepers is approximately 1.9m tall and weighs about 90kg. He was dressed in dark trousers and a light blue long sleeve shirt at the time of his disappearance.
His life-partner reported him missing on 10 May. Local police immediately established a search party which consisted of members of various SAPS units such as Vispol, K-9 Unit, SAPS Diving Unit and volunteers from the community and local CPF. The CPF also assisted in the dissemination of pamphlets of the missing 65-year-old man.
The search for Scheepers is ongoing.
