KNYSNA NEWS - The matter against the woman accused of murdering another woman during an argument has been postponed to August.
Vuyelwa Botana-Miah appeared briefly in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Wednesday 19 June for what was meant to be an official bail application but, on the day, the accused elected to abandon her bail application.
Botana-Miah was arrested subsequent to the death of 33-year-old Nyameka Booi at eThembeni near Concordia in May.
According to Knysna police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, it is alleged that the two women had an argument when Botana-Miah stabbed Booi with a knife. The victim sustained a stab wound to the chest and was transported to hospital where she died later.
Residents in the area allege the altercation took place due to the two women's involvement with a Plettenberg Bay man.
Botana-Miah is due to appear in court on 14 August.
