"KGG has evolved organically over the last two years into a group of wonderful women who help each other and help others.
The happy day, which happened to also coincide with the Women's Day weekend, was generously hosted by the magnificent Simola Hotel Country Club and Spa and attended by 100 women.
Simola not only provided a delicious luncheon, but also had Simola Spa therapists offering a taste of their luxurious treatments to all attendees.
The ladies sipped on Methodé Cap Classique from Weltevrede Estate as well as from Bonnievale and Groote Post.
However, the more serious note of the day was the focus on raising money for local charities and owing to the generous sponsorship of Simola and other benefactors, the full ticket price paid by all who attended was able to be donated to charities. The full amount raised has yet to be calculated.
Local KGG business owners donated prizes worth in excess of R90 000, which Hilton Teague of Hibernain Auctioneers partially auctioned off.
There was a separate raffle which brought in a total of R3 000.
Colette Murphy of Plum Tree Cakes sponsored and created the very special golden birthday cake with the names of everybody attending printed on the stunning masterpiece of a cake.
A big thank you went to Corli and Claudia for all their hard work in organising such a wonderful event and to Doné Else for her assistance.
An especially big thanks was given to Simola Hotel Country Club and Spa and particularly to Joanne Kaschula, Corli Schoeman and Janus Schoeman.
Simola even put extra staff on duty for the event and provided the lunch at their expense to help charities in Knysna.
Wine sponsors Groote Post, Weltevrede Estate, Bonnievale Wines, Nelmarie le Roux Wines and Siris Vitners who provided magnificent bubbly, red and white wines for the celebration were also thanked.
The efforts and patience of Dominic Morrell of Two Heads, who designed and produced the logo, tickets and posters were also noted.
