KNYSNA NEWS AND VIDEO - Residents and organisations of Knysna have taken to the streets in an organised march to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated worldwide annually on 3 December.
Celebrations began with a march from Pledge Square to Queen Street at 10:00, where there were stalls set up with goodies to buy in aid of the various organisations taking part.
Once everyone arrived, persons in wheelchairs took part in a wheelchair race up Queen Street towards the Main Road.
Celebrations will continue, serenaded by the St James Brigade Band, up until 13:00, with the stalls open for people to purchase items too. There will also be various speeches made during the course of the day.
