Update
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plettenberg Bay police have called on the community for assistance with tracking down a suspect linked to a recent farm attack on the outskirts of the coastal holiday town.
The incident happened on Sunday 22 October at about 03:45 on a farm on the Avontuur Road, Wittedrift.
Police spokesman Captain Marlene Pieterse said the 45-year-old farmer woke up to the sound of breaking glass and found two young men in his home.
They gained entry through a smashed glass door.
She added that the homeowner managed to chase the suspects away, but they returned shortly thereafter armed with machetes.
The suspects then attacked the farmer causing several injuries to his face and hands.
Following the attack the suspects fled the scene with a laptop, a cell phone and a Casio watch with a red strap.
Pieterse said this week that police believed that one of the suspects dropped a knitted beanie at the scene and asked the community to contact police should they know who it belonged to.
Should you have any information that can assist police with their investigation Warrant Officer John Nomdoe can be contacted on 044 501 1955.
All information will be treated as strictly confidential.
