Sandiswa Bibini and Thulani Vambayo, who were 30 and 36 respectively when they were arrested, are on trial for the murders of Brian Davis (67) and his wife Christine Anne Davis (64) during a robbery at their home in Lindsay Street on August 1, 2015. Bibini and Vambayo are married.
Warrant officer, Lulamile Gadu from the crime intelligence unit in Port Alfred, where the elderly couple’s car was found, was the first witness to take the stand on August 17.
Gadu said, “On August 6, 2015 an informant told me there was a vehicle that was suspect in Gwala Street, Port Alfred and I went to investigate.”
He said the previous day they had received an email from Knysna SAPS telling them about the murder that took place, enclosed with a picture of an Isuzu that was missing.
