KNYSNA | BITOU NEWS - Motorists are advised to excercise caution as high winds and rain are expected to sweep through the region.
The South African Weather Service has issued a Level 2 warning for damaging winds in various areas along the Garden Route, including Knysna and Bitou. The warning is in effect until midnight on Friday 21 May.
The forecast predicts the winds to be strong to near gale force winds that are likely to blow tree branches into the road. Motorists are urged to take care and keep a look out for any fallen branches or debris blown into the road while driving.
There have already been reports of a fallen tree on the N2 between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay as well as fallen branches on Rheenendal Road. However, these reports are unconfirmed.
