Local learners under top achievers

KNYSNA NEWS - Several Knysna High School 2018 matriculants not only made their school and families proud but they proved to be a force to be reckoned with after making it into the top achievers list in the Western Cape.

The provincial education department earlier this year announced its top 10 achievers in each subject and five Knysna High School learners made the cut.

They are Lisa Bruwer, who came fifth in consumer studies. Her classmate, Andrea Wolmarans, managed two top positions including eighth in geography and 10th in life sciences.

Slade Van Rooyen also excelled in life sciences, securing eighth position, and also managed to make the list at number 10 for physical sciences.

Isabella de Beer proved her artistic prowess by snatching up the eighth spot in visual arts while Belinda Mynhardt managed seventh position in Afrikaans first additional language.

Teachers and staff at the school congratulated the youngsters on making their mark and showing that hard work pays off.
