KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Municipality is doing a data cleansing project aimed at improving the reliability of the municipality’s revenue data.
The project started on 9 February with field workers doing a survey in Wards 5, 6, 8 and 9. On Monday 22 February, the field workers continued the survey in Wards 1, 2, 6 and 11.
A notice issued by the municipality today, 23 February, stated that it had announced this project in 2019 and that the successful completion of the project will ultimately result in improved revenue collection for the council.
For consumers, the advantages of the improved data base will be no more incorrect bills, the application of correct tariff structures and ensuring that consumers receive the right services.
The field workers will verify the property information such as the Erf number, physical address, property usage, the owner’s or occupant’s information, ID, contact details, electricity and water meter details, reading, faults, refuse bins and access to property.
The municipality appointed Ntiyiso Consulting to conduct the surveys. Each field worker has been provided with an identification card and a green bib. The ID card contains the name and photo of the field worker as well as the logos of both the municipality and the service provider (Ntiyiso Consulting).
If you are in any way uncomfortable to provide access to your property, please contact the municipality’s Revenue Department on 044 302 6597 / 6550 to confirm the identity of the official.
