KNYSNA NEWS - IN A RED BOX: Take note
Two cases of house robbery occurred in the past week. In both instances the victims sustained injuries. We urge clients to have their panic buttons handy and to use them if you suspect there are intruders. Please do not investigate noises on your own.
PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
THEFT OUT OF M.V.- LONG ST (Sat 10 November @ 00h47) – Allsound Officer reported that a vehicle window was broken. SAPS Officer had apprehended the suspect and owner of vehicle was notified. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - MOUNT JOY (Sun 11 November @ 09h14) - Officer was dispatched to alarm signal and reported a break-in via kitchen window. Guests were not available at the time to confirm losses but later notified that jewellery, handbags, Ipad, tablet and shoes were stolen. Case was later opened.
THEFT OF M.V. - NELSON ST (Sun 11 November @ 10h00) - Gentleman reported that his vehicle was stolen during the night. He has lost his keys the night before. Suspect returned around 03h00 and stole the vehicle. Case was opened with SAPS.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Tues 13 November @ 12h30) - A lady handed stolen items in at Mall Security after she witnessed a shoplifting suspect hiding the goods in bushes. A case of shoplifting was opened and the suspect was positively identified.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Wed 14 November @ 13h50) - Allsound Guards reported that a suspect was apprehended for shoplifting. Case was opened and the female suspect was taken into custody.
ATTEMPTED THEFT OUT M.V. - QUEEN ST (Wed 14 November @ 20h37) - Client phoned to report that 2 suspects were on the property trying to break into their vehicles. Suspects fled before any damage was done. No case was opened.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - GEORGE REX DR (Sat 10 November @ 10h04) - Client reported that one of their guest rooms was broken into and a TV was reported missing. No sign of forced entry was found. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
THEFT - VIGILANCE DR (Wed 14 November @ 07h03) - Client phoned our Control Room to report that diesel was stolen from truck parked in the yard. Theft occurred sometime during the night.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
BURGLARY - FRASER ST (Mon 12 November @ 07h58) - Client phoned in to report that shed was broken into during the night. Owner was unsure what was missing. Case not opened at the time.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS / PARADISE / HEUWELKRUIN
HOUSE ROBBERY - EDWARD ST (Tues 13 November @ 02h08) - Gentleman phoned in requesting assistance after a lady was attacked in her flat. It was reported that 3 suspects broke in and assaulted the lady with a crowbar before stealing her jewellery, cash and a phone. SAPS were notified and Officers searched surrounding area. No arrests were made. Case is being investigated.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARRICUM
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - SALT RIVER RD (Mon 12 November @ 21h34) - Officers responded to panic alarm. Guests reported that 3 suspects were on site and forced a window open but fled when they were disturbed. Officers found that perimeter beams had also been damaged. Nothing stolen, no case was opened.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - BLARICUM (Tues 13 November @ 13h00) - Client reported intruders on the property. It was found that the perimeter fence had been cut. No entry to the home, nothing missing.
THEFT - SALT RIVER RD (Wed 14 November @ 12h30) - Officer responded to report of a cellphone theft from contractor. The suspect was a fellow worker. Stolen phone was recovered, no criminal case was opened.
