KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
• THEFT OUT M.V. - TIDE STR (Thurs 26 October @ 06h41) - Resident telephoned to report that his car was broken into during the night. A car sound system was stolen. SAPS were notified for a case to be opened.
• THEFT - THESEN HARBOUR TOWN, LONG STR (Thurs 26 October @ 09h02) - Officers responded to a panic alarm. Manager reported that on Saturday, 2 suspicious persons had entered the premises. After they left, it was noticed that 2 pieces of artwork were missing. A description of the 2 men was provided and a case was opened.
• THEFT - MAIN STR (Fri 27 October @ 16h50) - Allsound guards reported that a bicycle was stolen. CCTV footage of the suspect was provided. Suspect was identified and SAPS apprehended the suspect and recovered the bicycle. Case was opened.
• SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Sat 28 October @ 13h01) - Allsound guards apprehended a suspect who grabbed clothing from store and fled. SAPS were notified. A case was opened and suspect was handed over to SAPS.
• BURGLARY - QUEEN STR (Mon 30 October @ 09h31) - Client reported items missing from premises. Break-in had occurred on the 26 October when suspect entered through unlatched window. A camera and wall clock were reported missing.
• POSSESSION OF STOLEN GOODS - LONG STR (Mon 30 October @ 16h11) - Client requested assistance after someone tried to sell him a circular saw. Allsound Officers responded, both men were stopped. SAPS were notified and suspects handed over for possession of possible stolen goods.
• POSSESSION OF STOLEN GOODS - MAIN STR (Mon 30 October @ 00h58) - Control room staff spotted a suspicious person on CCTV and dispatched Response. Known house break-in suspect was found in possession of a cooler box containing frozen meat. Suspect was handed over to SAPS for possession of possible stolen goods.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARICUM
• BURGLARY - SALT RIVER RD (Thurs 26 October @ 03h07) - Officer responded to alarm signal. Glass door was found broken. Owner confirmed that a cash box, bake and padlock were missing. SAPS were informed and a case was opened.
• BURGLARY - SALT RIVER RD (Sun 29 October @ 07h14) - Allsound officer spotted a suspicious person pushing a trolley filled with goods. As officer approached, suspect fled. Trolley was found to contain a TV, bedding and lights. Items were linked to a vacant partly damaged property. Items were handed over to SAPS.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
• THEFT - MILKWOOD DR (Tues 31 October @ 09h35) - Owner requested assistance after discovering that domestic worker had stolen jewellery. SAPS were notified. No case was opened and matter was not taken further.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
• BURGLARY - VIGILANCE DR (Thurs 26 October @ 07h21) - Client reported break-in at outside storeroom. Padlock was broken off and bulbs stolen from truck inside. SAPS were notified.
• ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - PROGRESS STR (Fri 27 October @ 19h13) - Officer responded to alarm and found force marks on a window. Owner was on site, confirmed no entry gained and nothing missing. No case was opened.
• BURGLARY - CONCORDIA RD (Tues 31 October @ 02h59) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found door standing open. Keyholder was notified. Classroom and tuck shop were broken into but keyholder unable to confirm if anything was missing. They would notify SAPS if needed.
• ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - GLADSTONE STR (Tues 31 October @ 04h27) - Officer responded to alarm. Force marks were found on window. Keyholder responded, confirmed no entry gained and nothing missing.
• THEFT - INDUSTRIAL AREA (Wed 1 November @ 10h45) - Client requested that we send vehicle to Industrial area where workers reportedly chased a suspect who stole tools from a vehicle. Officer assisted searching the area, suspect not found. Workers were unable to provide info of what was missing.
FISHER HAVEN / HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD
• BURGLARY - THESEN STR (Sat 28 October @ 11h12) - Officer responded to alarm signal and report of intruders seen leaving the property. A window and burglar bars were found forced open. Owner reported nothing visibly missing. Area was searched, suspects not found.
• THEFT OUT M.V - WILSON STR (Sun 29 October @ 05h00) - Resident reported his car was broken into. Suspect fled when owner disturbed him and all items were dropped by the suspect. SAPS were notified.
THE HEADS
• THEFT OUT M.V. - OUPAD DR (Sun 29 October @ 05h00) - A known Suspect was apprehended in Hunters Home by Allsound Response Officer. Suspect was found in possession of stolen items linked to a car break-in the The Heads. Suspect and items were handed over to SAPS.
BRENTON ON SEA / LAKE BRENTON
• BURGLARY - GEELHOUT STR (Thurs 26 October @ 08h59) - Keyholder telephoned report break-in at the home. Upstairs window was forced open, safe was removed from wall. Owner confirmed nothing of value was missing. SAPS were on site to open a case.
• BURGLARY / THEFT - GLADIOLUS AND MT. ROSE (Sat 28 October @ 05h20) - Allsound officer spotted a known house break-in suspect. Suspect tried to flee but was apprehended and found in possession of stolen goods which were later linked to a Burglary and a Theft in Brenton Area. Suspect was handed over to SAPS.
• BURGLARY - CR SWART DR (Sun 29 October @ 20h28) - Controller telephoned client after receiving a power interruption signal. Client requested vehicle to check. Officer reported window forced open and TV lying on bed. Owner was not available to confirm if anything was missing. Property was secured, case was later opened.
