KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Thurs 24 January @ 15h39) – Allsound Guards reported that suspect was caught for shoplifting. When searched he was found in possession of multiple items stolen from various shops. SAPS were notified, suspect was handed over.
THEFT OUT M.V. - GORDON STR (Fri 25 January @ 20h44) - Guest reported that a vehicle was broken into. A black Nike bag was reported missing. Owner of vehicle would open a case.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Sat 26 January @ 15h08) - Allsound Guards apprehended a well-known shoplifting suspect in possession of stolen goods. Store personnel declined to open a case and suspect had to be released.
ATTEMPTED COMMON ROBBERY - MAIN STR (Sat 26 January @ 20h57) - Officers responded to a panic alarm. A pedestrian was attacked by 2 unknown men trying to rob him. He managed to get away and call for help. Nothing was stolen, no case was opened.
BURGLARY - QUEEN STR (Sun 27 January @ 07h08) - Client phoned in to report a break-in during the night. Suspect forced lock of security gate and stole a cash box and laptop. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
THEFT - QUEEN STR (Sun 27 January @ 08h17) - Client reported that a bicycle was stolen out of their yard sometime during the night. No case was opened at the time.
THEFT OUT M.V. - NELSON STR (Mon 28 January @ 16h54) - SAPS requested assistance of camera footage after 3 suspects were caught in possession of a weedeater stolen from parked van. Suspected had been charged with possession of stolen goods.
BURGLARY - LEAGUE STR (Tues 29 January @ 05h13) - Client telephoned to report a break-in at the flat next door. Suspect gained entry via open bathroom window on 2nd floor. Two cellphones, Ipan and wallet was reported missing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
THEFT - HOLIDAY CRESC (Wed 30 January @ 09h43) - Client reported that a guests' cellphone was stolen around 05h00 that morning. Suspect had entered via unlocked door. Guest opened a case at the police station.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
THEFT OUT M.V. - INDUSTRIA RD (Sun 27 January @ 20h20) - Security Guards spotted 2 suspects on the property and found vehicle window broken. Suspects fled in vehicle. Information was passed on to SAPS and client notified to open a case. No arrests were made at the time.
THEFT - VIGILANCE DR (Mon 28 January @ 09h30) - Client telephoned to report that a large amount of Timber was stolen from their yard sometime over the weekend. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARICUM
THEFT - SALT RIVER RD (Sun 27 January @ 14h08) - Camera Operator spotted a suspicious person on cameras exiting property. Shortly thereafter, client telephoned to say that 2 handbags were stolen from a vehicle. Area was searched for suspect. Handbags were recovered but no arrests were made.
WELBEDACHT / KANONKOP / EASTFORDS
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - NARNIA (Wed 30 January @ 11h52) - Client activated the panic alarm after seeing an intruder trying to open a window. Suspect fled empty-handed when the panic sounded. No case was opened.
