KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA:
BURGLARY - HILL ST (Fri 22 June @ 11h10) – Property owner reported a break-in sometime between 08h30 - 10h30 while they were out. Flat screen TV, DVD player and laptop were reported missing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
THEFT - GRAY ST (Sun 24 June @ 19h11) – Guard requested assistance after suspect pulled a handbag out of display window (window not repaired from previous damage). Keyholder was notified but declined to open a case.
BURGLARY - CHURCH ST (Tues 26 June @ 22h23) - Flat tenant reported a break-in at a block of flats. Suspect climbed up drain pipes to open bathroom window. Tenant reported that a laptop, Ipad and 2 bags were missing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
BURGLARY - MILKWOOD DRIVE (Thurs 21 June @ 17h35) - Officer responded to panic alarm. Tenant in flat reported that he had a break-in. A flat-screen TV, play station, clothing and bedding was reported missing. Case was opened.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - SUN VALLEY DR (Sat 23 June @ 16h35) - Client reported that he chased a suspect who was trying to break into his garage. Suspect dropped his bag and fled. No entry was gained. Area was searched, suspect was not found.
RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY - KAMASSI ST (Sun 24 June @ 03h34) - Officers responded to panic alarm. Owner informed that he confronted an intruder inside his house. Suspect pulled out a screwdriver and threatened him. Clients' cellphone was stolen. Suspects jumped out a window and fled. Area was searched and SAPS were notified. No arrests made at the time.
ATTEMPTED THEFT - MILKWOOD DR (Sun 24 June @ 20h52) - Client reported noise on neighbouring property. Allsound Officer reported that suspect/s tried to remove an aluminium window frame from the building site but were disturbed. No owner information was available. SAPS were informed.
BURGLARY - HERONS WAY (Tues 26 June @ 09h45) - Allsound Officer spotted a known suspect carrying a bag with a small tool kit. He stopped to question the suspect and also found a power bank in his possession. Suspect was taken to SAPS and the items were linked to a break-in during the night in Herons Way. Suspect was charged accordingly.
BURGLARY - OLD TOLL RD (Wed 27 June @ 03h15) - Resident phoned in to report a break-in at outside store. He disturbed the suspect who had already packed tools and a small stove out. Nothing visibly missing at the time. Owner would open a case with SAPS later in the day.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - CALENDER ST (Tues 26 June @ 03h07) – Officer responded to alarm signal and confirmed forced entry at window and a broken tap on outside wall. Keyholder confirmed that nothing was missing from inside but tap was broken off. No case opened at the time.
SALT RIVER / BLARICUM
BURGLARY - SALT RIVER RD (Thurs 21 June @ 19h50) - Homeowner notified that he had footage on his CCTV cameras of 3 suspects inside his house in the early hours of the morning. Officer responded and confirmed that 2 flat screen TVs were stolen and some alcohol. SAPS were notified.
PHANTOM RIVER / RHEENENDAL
BURGLARY - PHANTOM RIVER RD (Sun 24 June @ 15h00) - Client telephoned to report a break-in. They estimated it happened in the preceding 3 - 4 days. Suspect/s entered via unlocked door and stole a large amount of jewellery. Case was opened.
