KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
COMMON ROBBERY - MAIN STR (Fri 22 February @ 14h25) – Client requested assistance after her daughter was robbed of her cellphone by 3 unknown men. CCTV footage was reviewed showing the 3 suspects. Allsound Officer was alerted and within an hour all 3 suspects were apprehended and handed over to SAPS. A case was opened.
THEFT - FICHAT STR (Fri 22 February @ 19h00) - Client reported that someone entered their premises through open door. Suspect fled when she shouted at him. A Cellphone and wallet were missing. SAPS were notified for case to be opened.
BURGLARY - WATERFRONT DR (Sat 23 February @ 05h55) - Gate guard activated the panic alarm after seeing suspect on camera. 4 Allsound vehicles responded and searched the area. Resident at one of the units there had been a break-in. A purse, cash, jewellery and cellphone were stolen. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - WATERFRONT DR (Sat 23 February @ 06h38) - Allsound Officer noticed vehicle window broken. Owner could not be found, SAPS were requested to assist further.
BURGLARY - MAIN STR (Mon 25 February @ 09h15) - Client reported a break-in at one of tenant's shops. Door was forced open and a number of clothing items were stolen. Case was opened and CCTV footage supplied to SAPS for further investigation.
THEFT OUT M.V. - VOORTREKKER STR (Wed 27 February @ 12h51) - Motorist requested assistance after vehicle was broken into. Suspect smashed back window and stole a handbag. No description available. Case was opened with SAPS.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
THEFT - HOLIDAY CRESC (Thurs 22 February @ 09h45) - Client phoned to report that a guests' cellphone was stolen sometime during the night. Phone was reportedly pulled out of open window. No case was opened.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - KAMASSIE STR (Sat 23 February @ 03h38) - Client phoned our control room to report that his car was broken into.
Allsound Officers apprehended one of the suspects. No case was opened and suspect was not charged.
COMMON ROBBERY - HOLIDAY CRESC (Mon 25 February @ 19h11) - Allsound Control Room received a call reporting that a man was robbed of his wallet and suspect fled towards Old Place. A clothing description was provided and 4 Allsound Vehicles searched the area. Suspect was not found.
BURGLARY - HOLIDAY CRESC (Wed 27 February @ 03h36) - Guest requested assistance after suspect unzipped tent and stole a head torch. Allsound Officers searched the surrounding area, suspect was not found. Guest declined to open a case.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - PROGRESS STR (Mon 25 February @ 15h05) - Client phoned in to report a break-in at his store room. A number of power tools and compressor were reported missing. SAPS were notified.
HUNTERS HOME / FISHER HAVEN / REXFORD
THEFT - HOWARD STR (Sat 23 February @ 16h53) - Client phoned to report that her gate sensors were stolen sometime during the night. CCTV footage was reviewed but could not identify a suspect. No case was opened.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS / PARADISE
BURGLARY - TEMPLEMAN DR (Wed 27 February @ 14h57) - Resident reported that he had a break-in sometime between 08h00 and 14h00.
Plastic burglar bars were melted and suspect entered. Two Puffer jackets, a backpack and empty small safe were reported missing. Resident notified SAPS and opened a case.
BRENTON ON SEA / LAKE BRENTON
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - MOUNTAIN ROSE DR (Thurs 21 Feb @ 08h48) - Resident informed our area-based Response Officer that his wallet was stolen out of his vehicle which had been parked in the garage. Wallet was recovered in the road, cash missing. No case was opened.
