KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
THEFT OUT M.V. - QUEEN ST (Fri 17 August @ 23h43) – Allsound Officer noticed vehicle with broken window and tampering to roof racks. Owner of the vehicle was located and reported nothing visibly missing. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - NELSON (Sat 18 August @ 07h54) – Client telephoned to report that premises was broken into during the night. Access was gained through roof of adjoining building. Suspect/s damaged alarm and CCTV system. Approximately R3400 in cash was stolen. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN RD (Sat 18 August @ 10h44) - Allsound guard radioed to report that a suspect was apprehended for shoplifting. Trainers valued at R1 200 were recovered. Case was opened and suspect was charged.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN RD (Sat 18 August @ 13h00) - Store manager reported that speakers were stolen by 2 shoplifters. The theft took place 45 minutes earlier. CCTV footage was reviewed and clothing description was obtained. Suspects were not located.
THEFT - RAWSON ST (Sat 18 August @ 22h08) - Client reported that an intruder entered the premises, stole a handbag and car keys. Vehicle was then opened and keys and cash were taken. No description of suspect. Case was opened.
THEFT OUT M.V. - GRAY ST (Mon 20 August @ 12h28) - Allsound Guards reported that a vehicle was broken into and spotted on CCTV footage. A description of the suspect was broadcast and apprehended shortly thereafter by Allsound Officers. Suspect was arrested and stolen bag was later recovered and a 2nd suspect arrested.
AGGRAVATED ROBBERY - GRAY ST (Mon 20 August @ 21h19) - Allsound Officer stopped to assist a family who had just been robbed while walking to their hotel. Suspect stabbed the lady in the hand. A witness had stopped to assist and identified the suspect. Suspect was apprehended shortly thereafter and handed over to SAPS.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN ST (Wed 22 August @ 14h37) - Client activated her panic after seeing 2 suspect running past carrying a bag. Allsound Officer apprehended one of the suspects and the other was apprehended by witnesses. They were found in possession of items stolen from a chain store. Case was opened and suspects were handed over to SAPS.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS / PARADISE
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - CAMPBELL DR (Sun 19 August @ 09H00) - Client reported that they had an attempted break-in. Suspect tried to open a sliding door. No entry was gained and nothing reported missing.
SALT RIVER / BLARRICUM
THEFT - SALT RIVER RD (Thurs 16 August @ 08h08) - Officer responded to alarm signal from perimeter beam and found a length of fencing missing. Keyholder was notified.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - COUCAL ST (Thurs 16 August @ 22h36) - Client activated the panic alarm after a suspect tried to enter through bathroom window. Suspect fled empty-handed when panic was activated. Area was searched but no one was found.
THEFT - SALT RIVER RD (Tues 21 August @ 15h00) - Resident reported that a wallet was stolen from house via open door. No information available on time on time or suspect description. Case was not opened.
WELBEDACHT / EASTFORD
BURGLARY - EASTFORD ESTATE (Sat 18 August @ 19h19) - Client activated the panic alarm after suspect entered via unlocked door, grabbed a laptop and fled. Officers searched surrounding area, no arrests were made.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
THEFT - MILKWOOD DR (Thurs 16 August @ 12h30) - Client stopped our area-based Response Officer and reported that 2 suspects had stolen towels from his property. The suspects fled and the towels were recovered. No case was opened.
BURGLARY - STINKHOUT CRES (Sun 19 August @ 14h36) - Client activated the panic when intruder forced his way in via security gate. Suspect grabbed a wallet and car keys and fled. Description was provided and area was searched. Suspect was not found.
HOUSE ROBBERY - SUNVALLEY DR (Tues 21 August @ 17h40) - Officer responded to panic alarm. The owner reported that an intruder was in the home. Suspect tried to grab her necklace from her neck before fleeing with a laptop and cellphone. The area was searched, suspect was not found. Case was opened.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
THEFT - PROGRESS RD (Thurs 16 August @ 00h40) – Allsound Officer spotted 2 men carrying a large battery. When he stopped to confront them, the men dropped the battery and fled. Battery could not be traced back to owner and has been brought to Allsound offices for safe keeping.
THEFT FROM M.V. - INDUSTRIAL RD (Fri 17 August @ 08h00) - Allsound Control Room was notified that an abandoned vehicle had been broken into and car seats stolen. Matter was reported to the Keyholder.
BURGLARY - SETHOSA ST (Sun 19 August @ 09h06) - Client reported a break-in sometime during the night. Suspect/s entered through roof and stole alcohol. Case was opened.
PHANTOM RIVER / RHEENENDAL
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - PHANTOM RIVER RD (Fri 17 August @ 19h39) - Client requested after vehicle was broken into. Owner reported that a pair of sunglasses was missing but later recovered. SAPS were notified.
BURGLARY - PHANTOM RIVER RD (Fri 17 August @ 20h42) - Officer responded to alarm signal and confirmed positive break-in. Suspect broke back window with a rock. Owner was informed and confirmed nothing missing from home. Case was opened.
