KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - MAIN STR (Thurs 15 November @ 08h50) – Client found a window broken on arrival at premises. No entry was gained to shop. CCTV footage showed a man smashing window and walking away.
SHOPLIFTING - MAIN STR (Thurs 15 November @ 14h17) - Allsound guards requested assistance after shoplifting suspect was apprehended and CCTV footage showed 3 members of the syndicate fleeing. Allsound Officers were alerted and within 2 hours, the remaining 3 suspects were also apprehended. Suspects were handed over to SAPS.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - MAIN STR (Fri 16 November @ 02h06) - Officer was dispatched to panic alarm. Owner of the business was sleeping on the property and heard glass break. He chased after suspect and apprehended him. Suspect was identified as the same one from the previous night. Suspect was handed over to SAPS.
BURGLARY - QUEEN STR (Fri 16 November @ 07h28) - Client reported a break-in at one the guests' rooms. Entry was gained via open bathroom window. Two iPhones, bags and R3000 cash were reported missing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
BURGLARY - QUEEN STR (Sun 18 November @ 07h18) - Client reported a break-in at guesthouse. Suspect entered via unlocked door at the back of property. An iPhone, wallet and clothing was reported missing. Case was opened.
BURGLARY - GRAY STR (Mon 19 November @ 08h37) - Client requested assistance to break-in. Window had been forced open and a computer and UPS was pulled out through window. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
COMMON ROBBERY - GRAY STR (Mon 19 November @ 16h16) - Business owner flagged our Response vehicle down and reported that his staff were chasing a suspect who grabbed a tourists camera bag. Officers assisted to search the area for description provided. Suspect was not found.
COMMON ROBBERY - HEDGE STR (Mon 19 November @ 17h20) - Victim phoned in to report that an unknown male grabbed her handbag and ran towards Gray Str. Allsound Officers responded and apprehended the suspect. Handbag was recovered and suspect was taken to Knysna SAPS.
BURGLARY - HEDGE STR (Mon 19 November @ 18h31) - Client reported a break-in at the neighbouring property. Window and burglar bars had been forced open. Owner was unsure if anything was missing. SAPS were notified.
THEFT OUT OF M.V. - FICHAT STR (Tues 20 November @ 15h17) - Client phoned in when she saw 2 suspects steal a laptop from parked vehicle. A clothing description was provided and Allsound Officers searched town area. No arrests were made.
THEFT - THESEN HARBOUR TOWN (Wed 21 November @ 17h24) - Client phoned to report that a cellphone was stolen from apartment. Allsound and SAPS Officers assisted with tracking phone until it was switched off. Phone was not recovered. Case was opened.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
ATTEMPTED THEFT - PLOVER STR (Mon 19 November @ 00h10) - Client reported hearing noise on the property. It was later found some that some blankets were missing but found at their fence. No case opened.
BURGLARY - HERONS WAY (Tues 20 November @ 11h40) - Client activated the panic after suspect jumped over courtyard wall and walked into bedroom. Resident screamed and suspect ran away empty handed. Area was searched, suspect not found.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
ATTEMPTED THEFT - WAENHOUT STR (Sat 17 November @ 03h56) - Client reported 2 suspects on property trying to steal petrol. Officers responded, one of the suspects was apprehended and also found in possession of stolen scrap metal. No cases were opened and suspect had to be released.
HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD / FISHER HAVEN
HOUSE ROBBERY - LINDSAY STR (Sat 17 November @ 05h04) - Officers responded to a panic signal. Owner reported suspect was in the house and stole her laptop. He pushed her out of the way and jumped out window. Suspect was arrested by Allsound Officers. Visit our Facebook page for more info.
KNYSNA HEIGHTS / PARADISE / HEUWELKRUIN
BURGLARY - RIO STR (Fri 16 November @ 00h22) - Client reported hearing a noise on the property. It was noticed that a cellphone was missing, possibly pulled out of open window. Case was opened.
BURGLARY - LOWER CIRCULAR DR (Wed 21 November @ 18h12) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found window broken and door unlocked from the inside. Owner was informed and confirmed that nothing was missing. No case was opened.
SALT RIVER / GREEN PASTURES / BLARRICUM
HOUSE ROBBERY - SALT RIVER RD (Fri 16 November @ 00h34) - Client phoned in to request assistance to a friends property after she was assaulted at her home. Victim reported that 2-3 unknown suspects had attacked her. Handbag appeared to be missing at the time. The victim was transported to Hospital for medical attention.
WELBEDACHT / EASTFORD
BURGLARY - EASTFORD RIDGE (Fri 16 November @ 08h44) - Client reported a break-in at their shed approximately 1 week earlier. Client reported that tools were stolen. A case was opened with SAPS.
BURGLARY - WELBEDACHT LANE (Sun 18 November @ 12h26) - Client phoned our control room to report a break-in at their guesthouse. Window was broken but guests were not available to confirm if anything was missing. No case opened at the time.
BURGLARY - CUTHBERT STR (Mon 19 November @ 09h29) - Client reported a break-in at guest cottage. Room had been ransacked. Guests reported that 2 cameras and the small safe were missing. SAPS were notified and a case was opened.
