PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Plett has become synonymous with adventure over the years and this will be celebrated with the popular BUCO Adventure Weekend over Easter this year.
This year's event will kick off with traditional trail runs on Saturday 16 April at Cairnbrogie with distances of 5km, 12km and 16km, to suit runners' unique abilities.
The event organisers, the Muddy Foot Adventures team, said the terrain will vary from jeep track to plantations and cliff-top paths. "Every view is worth the effort. This will be, as always, a fun morning out for the whole family," they said.
Sunday 17 April will offer a multi-sport event for those a bit more adventurous at heart. The format will be a run, followed by a swim, another run and finally a cycle. Distances are still being finalised, but organisers said it would likely be a 5km trail run, a 350m swim, a 2km trail run and a 20km mountain bike ride.
While individual hardcore athletes can enter for the total event, teams of three where each person does a different leg are also welcome.
The route will be run on a novice adventure race style with Google maps and other maps showing the route to be followed. Checkpoints will be collected along the route, adding an element of skill to finding your way.
Tickets are available at www.entrytickets.net and prices depend on the events entered.
