This couple, together with another romantic pair, Charles and Theresa Nodida, tied the knot on December 4 in Khayelethu, thanks to the joint efforts of Apostle Jennifer Brinkhuis, founder of God’s Habitation Church, and her sister, Venessa Stroebel.
The couples’ long-awaited wedding days finally arrived after the Mordegais had been living together for 18 years, and the Nodidas for 13 years.
While both couples had long wanted to officially tie the knot in a meaningful ceremony, circumstances and financial woes had always been obstacles in their paths.
"I don’t have words to describe how grateful I am. This was really my dream wedding. It was just the way I always pictured it would be like," says Theresa Nodida.
Nodida explains that she and her husband tried to get married in the past, but somehow something always came up to prohibited their plans.
Theresa enthuses: "No one has ever given me such a wonderful gift. I will always cherish what the church has done for me. It’s really a dream come true."
"It's such a good feeling to help others who are in need. The two couples are overjoyed and so are we. This was our first two weddings since the church's establishment in 2008," smiles Brinkhuis.
Brinkhuis explains that she and her sister, Stroebel went the extra mile to find all the essential accessories and equipment that a wedding couple needs.
"We bought the rings out of our own pockets. We approached various sponsors to sponsor food and beverages, as well as decorations and other equipment we needed. It was such a blessed day," said Brinkhuis.
God’s Habitation Church would like to extend a sincere and grateful thanks to the following sponsors: Knysna Municipality (money donation), Pick n Pay (food), Fruit & Veg City (fruit and vegetable), as well as Chris Schotz, who had the photographs developed and printed, and Barbara van Hussel, who offered a discount on the rings.

Theresa and Charles Nodida tied the knot on Saturday, December 4 at God’s Habitation Church in Khayelethu.
