PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A collision occurred this morning involving a bus, a sports utility vehicle, and a rigged, heavy motor vehicle on the N2 Plettenberg Bay near Alkantmooi resort.
According to the driver of the Intercape bus, the SUV driver failed to use the indicator in time while attempting to turn into Alkantmooi resort.
As a result, the bus swerved and collided head-on with the rigged heavy motor vehicle travelling from west to east.
The incident caused significant traffic congestion in both directions, prompting Bravo control to be alerted by SPI.
The Intercape bus was carrying 52 passengers, with 30 individuals injured and subsequently taken to the hospital for observation.
The rigged heavy motor vehicle had one passenger who suffered suspected broken legs and was transported to Plettenberg Bay Life Hospital.
The passengers in the SUV reportedly had no injuries.
Med Life, Plettenberg Bay Fire, Plettenberg Bay SAPS, Knysna Provincial Traffic, Bitou Traffic, Sandalwood and Bitou law enforcement were amongst those who were involved in the response to the accident.
