Early on April 13, local detective Warrant Officer John Nomdoe apprehended the second suspect – a 16-year-old youngster – in the case which had rocked the close-knit community of the Crags.
The first suspect, 19-year-old Dillon Toll, was arrested on March 27 this year in Knysna after he arrived in the coastal holiday town following a visit to De Aar.
The two are accused of stabbing 20-year-old Franklin De Waal to death just a few metres from his home in the Crags. His body was found by a family member in Geelhout Street on February 14. He was stabbed in the chest and his cellphone was missing.
