PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS FLASH - The body of a man, thought to be between the age of 23 and 25, was found in the Groot River Estuary in Nature’s Valley today, Monday 8 January.
SANParks made the discovery.
Area manager of Nature’s Valley (which falls under the Tsitsikamma section of the Garden Route National Park) Bulelwa Msengi said, “our teams from Working for the Coast were cleaning the beach when they came across the body.”
A senior member of the team was alerted while the Bitou municipality, police and forensics are at the scene.
“We wish to convey our sincerest condolences to the famiy and friends for the loss of this young life,” said Msengi.
The park has requested all visitors to its various water bodies to continue to adhere to safety regulations that govern them. “Please exercise as much caution as possible at all times,” was their warning.
