PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - There is good news for Bitou students who haven't applied for the Bitou Municipality's bursary programme yet, as the scope and the application deadline have been extended.
The programme is an initiative by the municipality to boost youth development and this year included several qualifying courses.
Initially this included internal auditing with the focus on forensic investigation, engineering – both civil and electrical – artisans including electricians, plumbers, carpenters and bricklayers, as well as building inspectors – both engineer and building inspection technology.
Following an appeal by parents to include other fields, the municipality extended the scope to include all other fields.
The municipality has therefore also extended the deadline for applications from 26 January to 2 February. To apply for a bursary, applicants have to have studied or have to be currently studying at schools in Bitou.
Applicants must fill out the application form, providing a detailed CV, certified copies of either their latest Grade 12 results or their latest school results (such as Grade 11) if they are yet to finish school, a certified copy of identification, as well as an affidavit of parents' combined income.
Any enquiries can be forwarded to Duncan at tmeyer@plett.gov.za. Application forms are available online.
