KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna community mourns the loss of Dinese River (63), a former class assistant at Riverwood Primary, who passed away on 27 December 2023 due to cancer. 

She was laid to rest on 6 January, surrounded by family and friends who gathered to pay their respects and honour her remarkable life.

Dinese was born in Knysna and raised in Salt River. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many as a devoted class assistant for an impressive 42 years at Riverwood Primary School. 

Denise had an exceptional gift for connecting with children, and her love for them was evident in every aspect of her work.

Those who remember Dinese fondly said that her infectious laughter and joyful spirit will forever be etched in their memories. She had a knack for weaving tales and cracking jokes, bringing smiles to everyone around her. 

As a dedicated Springbok fan, she cheered on her favourite team with unwavering support. Leaving behind a legacy of love, Dinese is survived by her four daughters, five grandchildren, two sisters and a large extended family.

Dinese's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who reached out with messages, calls, flowers and contributions during this difficult time.
