KNYSNA NEWS - PROPERTY-RELATED INCIDENTS:
TOWN AREA
BURGLARY - LONG STREET (Friday 18 August @ 06h07) - Resident reported that her cellphone was stolen from premises via unlatched window. Officer responded, suspect was apprehended and cellphone recovered. Case was opened and suspect charged.
PARADISE / KNYSNA HEIGHTS / HEUWELKRUIN
THEFT - CIRCULAR DR (Thurs 17 August @ 16h21) - Keyholder reported people on property stealing copper from burned building. Officers responded and detained 3 people in possession of stolen metal. Keyholder opened a case and suspects were handed over to SAPS.
BURGLARY - CIRCULAR DR (Sun 20 August @ 05h12) - Allsound Controllers spotted 3 suspicious men on CCTV cameras. Officer responded and apprehend all 3. One of the men was found in possession of a cellphone which had been stolen the previous night in Circular Drive. Suspect was arrested and charged.
OLD PLACE / COSTA SARDA
THEFT - SUNVALLEY DR (Sat 19 August @ 11h13) - Officers responded to panic alarm. Owner reported a suspect grabbed his wallet and fled. Officers searched surrounding area, suspect was not found. SAPS were notified for case to be opened.
BURGLARY - KAMDEBO STR (Mon 21 August @ 03h18) - Resident requested assistance to break-in at home. Suspect removed glass pane from lounge window. Owner confirmed a laptop and handbag were missing. SAPS were on site, case was opened.
INDUSTRIAL AREA / HORNLEE / NEKKIES
BURGLARY - VIGILANCE DR (Sun 20 August @ 10h32) - Officer responded to alarm and found security gate and door forced open. Owner was notified and confirmed a cash box with R600 was missing. Case was opened.
COMMON ROBBERY - GEORGE REX DR (Sun 20 August @ 20h04) - Client stopped our response officer to report that assistance was needed after a couple were robbed while walking.
Suspect reportedly grabbed the ladies handbag and fled. Officer from Coastal Security apprehended the man a short distance away. Case was opened and suspect handed over to SAPS.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - DAFFODIL STR (Sun 20 August @ 20h26) - ADT requested assistance to reported attempted break-in. Officer confirmed force marks on the front door. Nothing stolen from property, no case was opened.
BURGLARY - CONCORDIA RD (Sun 20 August @ 23h45) - Officer responded to alarm at school premises and confirmed a positive break-in. Classroom door forced open and window broken. Keyholder was notified and would open a case with SAPS.
FISHER HAVEN / HUNTERS HOME / REXFORD
BURGLARY - WILSON STR (Fri 18 August @ 00h06) - Client reported 2 suspects were on his premises.
Officers responded and searched area, one suspect was apprehended and a weed-eater, chainsaw, sunglasses and running shoes were recovered.
The owner of the sunglasses and running shoes was identified. Weedeater and Chainsaw remained unidentified. Suspect and items were handed over to SAPS.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - REXFORD RD (Fri 18 August @ 03h06) - Client requested assistance after suspect tried to break-in at garage window. No access gained, nothing missing.
BELVIDERE
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY - UPPER HILL STR (Sat 19 August @ 16h40) - Officer responded to alarm signal and found force marks on sliding door. No entry was gained. Owner was notified and confirmed the marks were not there before. No case opened.
