KNYSNA NEWS – The police station in Knysna recently received a welcome face-lift. As part of a project driven by the Knysna Community Police Forum to clean up the station, the building was given a fresh coat of paint.
"When the Knysna Community Police Forum reached out to community partners for help to assist them with the painting of the facade of the Knysna Police Station heritage building and the inside of the Community Service Centre (CSC), they were elated by the response," said Cheryl Britz, Knysna CPF chairperson.
Knysna CPF and police management thanked all the partners and stakeholders - Bernard Smit from Allcote for his contribution and guidance, Knysna Safety and Security Initiative (KSSI), PHCA OWLS, Belvidere Estate HOA, Brenton Ratepayers Association, Knysna Heads Association, HRF Vigilance NHW, Knysna Business Chamber and Allsound Security.
"Much appreciation to the Department of Correctional Services for the collaboration and community service labour provided and to Riaan Rheeders of Knysna Water-proofing Centre for his time spent supervising the painting. Also to the Revive Knysna team for the love and attention provided in upgrading of the front gardens," Britz said.
"Thank you to Knysna Police management and to all who assisted the CPF. Together we accomplished what we set out to do - to give back to Knysna a smart landmark heritage building for all working within or passing by."
