KNYSNA NEWS & VIDEO - Knysna has 30 voting stations for this year's local government elections (LGE), but none are as far outside of town as the one at the Karatara Community Hall.
This voting station is just over 38km from the municipal building in the centre of Knysna, narrowly edging out the 36km to the Buffelsnek Community Hall. It lies right at the heart of the rural Knysna settlement of Karatara.
As one of two voting stations in Ward 2, it is also at the heart of one of Knysna's biggest voting districts.
It is arguably one of the easiest on the eye, with a stunning building and breathtaking mountain views. In years gone by the DA has been the top dog at this voting station, winning 59,53% of the votes in the 2011 LGE and 55,43% of the votes in the 2016 LGE.
If you are registered as a special vote but didn't make it to the polls this weekend you need not worry, as you can still cast your vote along with the rest of the country's normal voters today.
