KNYSNA | PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - As the year starts to draw to a close and Covid-19 cases are on the rise, the vaccination drive continues in the face of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
As at Monday 13 December, the Western Cape has seen a total of 2 735 462 registrations for the Covid-19 vaccine, which is 48,74% of the eligible population. The 18- to 34-year-old age group remains the most registered with 872 088 registrations.
In the Garden Route 243 291 people have registered thus far, 49,14% of the eligible population.
Here, the 35- to 49-year-old age group holds the most registrations with 67 043 people registered. Knysna is still the third-most registered town in the district with 34 793 registered individuals, 60,61% of the eligible population.
The 35- to 49-year-old age group is the most-registered here too, with 10 310.
Bitou meanwhile has a total of 21 146 registrations, 49,76% of the eligible population. The 35- to 49-year-old cohort reigns supreme here too, with 6 832 registrations.
