KNYSNA | BITOU NEWS - After the successful Vooma Vaccination Weekend campaign last weekend, the normal vaccination schedule continues in Knysna and Bitou this week.
The Vooma Vaccination Weekend was a national campaign held from 1 to 3 October, and in the Western Cape a total of 59 429 vaccinations were administered during the three days.
Many vaccination drives were held at shopping malls, but also at some outreach sites, giving everyone a good opportunity to access the vaccines.
The Western Cape has reached 2 188 527 vaccine registrations as at Monday 4 October, approximately 44,07% of the eligible population. Of this total, the Garden Route has seen 198 304 registrations – 9,1% of the province's total. The Garden Route has meanwhile seen 45,79% of its eligible population register for the vaccine.
The Knysna sub-district has recorded 14,31% of the district's vaccine registrations at a total of 28 378 (56,05% of the eligible population) by Monday.
In Bitou there has been a total of 16 709 vaccine registrations, which is 8,42% of the district's total and 44,34% of the eligible population.
There were no sites open yesterday, 4 October, but the vaccination site schedule for Knysna and Bitou this week is as follows:

- Knysna Town Hall – Tuesday 5 October to Friday 8 October
- Sedgefield Clinic – Thursday 7 October and Friday 8 October
- Keurhoek Satellite Clinic – Friday 8 October
Bitou
- Kwanokuthula CDC – Wednesday 6 October and Friday 8 October
- Kranshoek Clinic – Thursday 7 October
- Plettenberg Bay Town Clinic – Tuesday 5 October to Friday 8 October
- Crags Clinic – Tuesday 5 October (today)
