KNYSNA BUSINESS NEWS - Burger enthusiasts in the Garden Route have a new place to enjoy hearty, homemade craft burgers: The Burger Exchange, a new restaurant which opened on Saturday 8 September on Thesen Island, Knysna.
The name, "The Burger Exchange", comes from the idea that they focus on serving quality burgers made from only the finest ingredients sourced locally and everything is made from scratch in-house, from the free-range beef patties to the tasty mayonnaise, and for customers to "exchange" ideas in conversation in a social setting – it’s the place to meet!
At the grand opening, most patrons opted for the more exotic items on the menu such as the "Camembert" – complete with port wine, onions and rocket. Or the avocado, bacon and feta-filled "Fab". These are just additions to "The Classic" and "The Cheese", also a firm favourite, all served alongside crispy, soft-centred golden skinny or sweet potato fries.

Vegetarians aren’t left in the lurch, either. There's the "Veg Patch", dripping with aubergine, herbs, pesto and a homemade falafel patty. Low-carb options are also available.
They are licensed, so you can enjoy a drink with your burger. There's a wide range of craft beers, cocktails and wines to choose from. Or just go for drinks at their new bar with seating overlooking the lagoon and Featherbed.

Friendly, professional waiters and staff ensure a pleasant customer experience from start to finish, and whether you are seated inside or on the deck, patrons can soak in the vibey atmosphere and enjoy the trendy, urban, simplistic décor in whites and greys, funky wall décor, a beautiful tiled feature wall with wooden highlights throughout seen in the tall metal and wooden tables and beautiful new bar counter.
The children’s playground right next door in full view of the deck is an inviting addition for families and The Burger Exchange does cater for children with a selection of kiddies meals offered.
“We will be adding exciting new additions to our burger selection in the coming months, and focus on serving the ultimate burger experience to our customers,” says restaurant management.
And that’s all the more reason to fall for The Burger Exchange, open Tuesdays to Saturdays 11:00 to 22:00, Sundays 11:00 to 15:00. Closed on Mondays.
