GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Porcupine Pie Boutique Lodge is a 4-star lodge comprising three secluded luxury chalets and a central lapa and pool deck. The design and features make it a perfect adult getaway. It is ideal for couples of all ages, or even a group of friends wanting to relax far from the rush of the big cities, but unfortunately not suitable for children. It is also a very special honeymoon location.
It was voted as the second best honeymoon destination in South Africa in 2009 and then again in 2010 by SABIA (South African Bridal Industry Academy), and so received the well-deserved silver trophy. "It is honeymoon couples who have rated us that have earned us this award," says owner John McIldowie.
Porcupine Pie Boutique Lodge is situated in Wilderness Heights - bordering the beautiful Touw River and Wilderness National Park. A perfect location for hiking, riding, bird watching or simply relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
There are three individual chalets, and a central "lapa" with a bar, lounge area and dining room, all surrounded by spacious decks overlooking the swimming pool.
The lodge is north facing and is usually sunny and warm - even in winter.
It has three luxury chalets carefully positioned so as to offer maximum privacy. All beds are king size extra length, and linen is the finest Percale cotton.
The chalets have ceiling fans for balmy nights, and heaters as well as electric blankets for chilly winter nights. All have stocked bar fridges and satellite TV.
The bathrooms en suite have showers and baths - all with large picture windows offering spectacular views of the river and Outeniqua Mountains.
"From the moment you arrive until the time you leave, prepare to experience a slice of heaven," writes Steve from Cape Town on the lodge’s web site www.porcupinepie.co.za.
