BUSINESS NEWS - Servaas de Kock, Group Editors sales and marketing manager, has been appointed to the media house's board of directors.
De Kock joined Group Editors three years ago and distinguished himself from the start, which led to his quick advancement.
In April this year he became second in charge at Caxton Digital, as technology manager under Nicole Rimbault, Group Editors operations director and Caxton digital manager. De Kock is now a director of Group Editors together with Rimbault and the founding directors of Group Editors.
"It is a great honour to be part of this business. What stands out about Group Editors is their value system, something I can associate with. They care for people and are passionate about the way they handle people. In addition to this, they are extremely competitive in the media environment - they constantly redefine the traditional offering and push the innovative boundaries," says De Kock.
He says although the traditional (print) product will remain, the primary focus of the company will be to constantly experiment and expand in the digital landscape.
"As sales and marketing director, my core focus will still be on how we can give our clients the right products so that they earn returns on investment through their marketing campaigns. We strive to maintain healthy relationships with our clients and hope to strengthen and develop these further in the years to come."
After joining Group Editors three years ago, De Kock implemented a group strategy for all the Group Editors newspapers, focusing on both print and digital products, and through a number of training programmes made sure the sales personnel had the necessary knowledge and skills to sell.
"As far as the future is concerned, it is important in today's economic climate to clearly define the product offering, to understand where we want to experiment and where not. However, we will make sure that the products we offer remain relevant to the times and effective in strengthening our clients' marketing efforts," says De Kock.
Both Rimbault and Managing Director Peter Moolman have expressed their delight about De Kock's acceptence of this appointment. "We look forward to working closely with him for many years to come as we continue to take our brands, our company and our people from strength to strength," says Rimbault.
