KNYSNA BUSINESS NEWS - The reason you might not have heard of Movnat is because it is a brand new concept in South Africa. And although the latest fitness trend has been taking Europe, the USA and large sectors of Latin America by storm, it has only started to find a firm foothold on the African continent.
Evan Stofberg of the newly opened Studio on Main in Knysna is the only practitioner of this new discipline bar only two others in Johannesburg and Cape Town respectively.
And together with his wife Adele, the two created a unique, holistic health service aimed at replenishing mind, body and soul.
Once firmly ensconced in Britain's bodybuilding industry for many years, the duo eventually found it lacking. "We were both physically hyper-fit but something was missing," Evan explains. He started delving into the French-forged Movnat discipline which focuses on natural body movements while Adele started to concentrate on yoga and meditative techniques to achieve mental and spiritual fitness.
Both are quick to point out that even though they are expertly schooled in nutrition and body-honing techniques, the Studio on Main experience is not exclusively a quick-fix weight loss or dietary solution. It's more a one-stop shop for a thorough flexing of the total being.
Step in to their airy studio in the Oaks on Main complex and you can choose a custom-made programme to suit your specific needs whether its bespoke personal training, Reiki healing, guided meditations or some of the exciting outings such as Fitness in the Forest or Yoga on the Beach.
There is no restriction on age or ability. Evans' Movnat will benefit everyone from the elderly intent on preventing that hip replacement to the robust youngster intent on Parkour fame.
The studio provides special training for children and adults and specific packages based on their clients' particular goals, needs and lifestyles. Home visits by the couple are also available on request. A complimentary consultation is offered to discuss your personal goals in detail.
