PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - For over two decades, Tinker Milner has been the driving force behind Beachyfide, a local Plett furniture manufacturing business located in Plett Industrial Area.
Tinks' entrepreneurial spirit was evident early on when he relocated to Plett in 1980 and started Tinker Signs, followed by Tinker Lures. His willingness to follow his passions and take risks has been a hallmark of his success.
And while it is now time for him to retire, Tinks is grateful for the hard work and fellowship of his incredible staff and family, without whom his journey would not have been possible.
His wife has supported him from the beginning and all three of their children have worked in the business, at some time, before going off to pursue their dreams.
Tink's gratitude extends to his loyal customers who have supported him and his business for over two decades, and his suppliers who have provided the materials and support necessary to maintain the quality and standard of the custom furniture that Beachyfide is known for.
Without their support and contributions, he would not have been able to achieve the success and recognition it enjoys today.
Beachyfide has worked on projects including Kwikspar Beacon Isle, Heather Park SuperSpar, Pezula Clubhouse and Plett Country Clubhouse, and has featured on Top Billing and in House & Leisure.
As Tinks passes the torch to Kate Whiting, he expresses his hope that customers and suppliers will continue to support the business and the new owner, just as they have supported him over the years. In closing, Tinks' legacy serves as a testament to the persistence, passion and unwavering commitment it takes to build and sustain a successful business.
As he hands over the reins to Kate, his message is clear: keep pursuing your dreams, take calculated risks, and always remain grateful for the people who make your journey possible.
