Maxwell, an internationally renowned model and fa-shionista, opened the doors to Max Models in 1991 after years of active involvement, nationally and internationally, in the fashion industry. "In those years I worked in all facets of the industry, from art directing, to styling and choreographing and also styling hair and make-up," explained Maxwell.
Using her vast experience as a successful model in London, Milan, Paris, New York and locally, together with her diverse industry experience, she and her team of experienced hands-on bookers have evolved the agency into a successful boutique women's only agency, where they successfully develop and manage the models' careers both locally and internationally.
Maxwell added, "We give 100% to our models' career management, as well as providing efficient service to our clients." To alleviate parents' fears she explained that alcohol, drugs and 'partying' are not tolerated by Max Models: "No model can have a successful career without a healthy lifestyle." Young models are groomed to cope with client demands and for international travel, where they are closely monitored and sometimes even accompanied if under-age.
Max Models need to have all-round good looks, a height of 1.75m to 1.80m, good skin, teeth, hands, legs and a good body. "Very often girls who have great potential are very shy or don't believe that they can be a model, but sometimes unusual faces work beautifully on film.
Not all models need swimwear bodies - certain fashions require a very different body type."
