BUSINESS NEWS - Stannards Guest Lodge has long been part of Knysna’s hospitality landscape, and five years ago we became its custodians, stepping into a place that immediately felt full of character and heart.
What first drew us to Stannards was the setting - the quiet neighbourhood, wide garden spaces, mature trees and abundant birdlife.
From the very beginning, it felt like a place where people could slow down and simply be.
It was easy to imagine guests walking through the garden, enjoying the stillness, and the house coming alive again with conversation, laughter and purpose. That feeling has stayed with us ever since.
As an owner-managed guest lodge, hospitality for us is deeply personal.
Many guests comment on the warmth of their welcome, the peaceful beauty of the property and the helpful local suggestions that shape their time in Knysna.
We see every stay as an opportunity to make people feel at home, even when they are far away.
Over the past four years, we have carefully invested in the property’s long-term care and comfort, including solar power, gas geysers, extensive water storage systems and a borehole, along with ongoing updates to rooms and gardens.
We are truly honoured to be nominated in the Best of Knysna & Plett Readers’ Choice Awards, and grateful to share this place with so many wonderful guests.
