Having started in 2005 as a small, family pool shop in the industrial area, they are now celebrating their 21st year in Knysna, and they haven't wasted a single moment! 

From Riversdale to Gqeberha (PE), that familiar pink and blue sign can now be seen in seven other towns along the coastline.

In celebration of 21 years - although mostly courtesy of the April storms - they have added a new colour to their sign - an aptly placed, fiery red and orange flame, captioned: PET Pool & Fire! A fusion of all things pet - pool - and BRAAI! Next time you are on Waterfront Drive, remember to look out for it.

While these combinations might seem unrelated and niche, the logic to the evolution is quite sound: If you have a pool, you have a garden. If you have a garden, you might have a pet and family. And what do families love to do together? A lekker Saturday braai!

Think delectable braai sauces, spices; fun SA style branded clothing, colourful and traditional cast iron potjies and cookware, interesting braai gadgets, games and much more! All of that while still getting the best of what you love about them: a wide range of foods, treats and accessories for our furry, feathered and fishy friends. Whatever your reasons for shopping there, one thing is clear: the Knysna community has chosen Pet & Pool as Best Pet Shop in Knysna once again, for the third year in a row.

Yulandi Barnard, the branch manager, has a special message for those who again voted them as winners this year: "Thank you for supporting independent business, so that we can strive to make a difference".

While their name and location may have changed over the years, Pet & Pool remains proudly family and community focused - still serving Knysna with the same heart, the same familiar faces, and the same commitment that has seen the public vote them the Best Pet Shop in Knysna in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
