The day care centre that is designed for a range of same-day surgical procedures, catering for the requirements of a variety of specialists, officially opened on May 25 in Fisher Haven.
Bibi Meyer, group operational manager for Advanced Health SA, said, “Our story in the Cape Province started 18 months ago and in the course of the last 12 months, we have managed to open eight new day hospitals. Our Knysna facility is by far the one with the most beautiful view – especially from the theatres - and a place to be proud of.
"To have over 94 people joining us on this special day, is indeed an extraordinary event for us. For us as leaders in Advanced Health, we have a core focus on three aspects.
"If you notice our logo, it has a drop-like format representing the A for Advanced Health. This means we have three corner stones: doctors, patients and staff.”
To the dentists, specialists, general practitioners, optometrists and supporting structures, she said, “You are professional and work with integrity and we partner with you, we do not dictate or decide, we ask, we interact and without you, this success story would not have been possible. With your support we have managed to secure a total of over 450 cases since July 2016.”
Meyer went on to thank the doctors for trusting Advanced Health with their patients, and promised to carry on making a positive difference in both their lives.
“We are proud to serve the community of Knysna, proud to grow with our staff and proud to make a difference in the beautiful town,” concluded Meyer.
The guests then went on to enjoy an evening filled with delectable dishes, fine wine and in the company of colleagues and loved ones.
