Knysna
In the late afternoon of Monday 8 February, residents of Hornlee would have noticed the worrying sign of smoke billowing from the hillside in the far reaches of the Knysna suburb. It is unknown what caused the fire or when it started, but Knysna Fire and Rescue's firefighters were accompanied by firemen from MTO Forestry, and managed to bring the blaze under control by 19:00.
