Time in nature
• Visit Pledge Nature Reserve – 10 hectares of pure nature in the heart of Knysna. Open every day from 07:00 to 18:00. Entry off Main Road between Postnet and Steers. Dogs on leashes welcome. Park it at the market
• Knysna: The Friday Market at Knysna ontessori School in Kanonkop Street, 16:00 - 20:00. Supervised parking, seating and shelter, bonfires and live music, a quality craft selection, a bar and an amazing choice of locally produced food enjoyed on the premises or at home.
• Sedgefield: Wild Oats Community farmers' market every Saturday morning (an award-winning market with over 60 stalls of the finest local farm produce, home bakes, plants and flowers, outdoor breakfast and live music), Scarab Craft Village and Mosaic Market, all in close proximity along the N2.
• Plettenberg Bay: Harkerville Saturday Market every Saturday morning offers food, art and craft and more, on the N2 midway between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.

Under the covers
• The weekend will kick off early at Surf Cafe Plett, who have a line-up filled to the brim this week. Pride and Joy will be serenading patrons tonight, Thursday 6 May, from 19:00 up to 21:00. Renegade will follow on 7 May from 19:30 with Mr Ian on 8 May on show from the same time, and DriftWinds will wrap it up on 9 May from 19:00 onwards.
• As part of their usual weekly line-ups, Tapas will be featuring Cloud 9 tomorrow Friday, 7 May, with the show on from 18:30 to 21:30. Meanwhile, Drydock will be hosting Tanya Storm on Saturday 8 May from 13:00 to 16:00.
• For Mother's Day on Sunday 9 May, Mel's Place will welcome music from HardtLand duo Mynhardt Krüger and Andrew Nezar. They will be honouring the most important people of our lives, our mothers, with their show Mother of Honour with songs from Queen to Il Divo. They will be performing from 13:00 to 16:00.
Original offerings
• Following a star-studded Easter season, event organisers Better Live will be welcoming a huge name in music in a couple of weeks.
This time around it will be in the form of award-winning Canadian alt-pop duo Neon Dreams featuring Levi Rowan. They will be stopping in Knysna as part of their tour right across the country that will see them visit many a city, but only one coastal town. This show will happen at Blend Country Restaurant on Friday 7 May, with Neon Dreams set to perform in Knysna for the first time.
