KNYSNA NEWS - Dubbed South Africa's Rory Gallagher, Basson Laubscher is one talented musician.
Born and raised in Stellenbosch, Basson started playing guitar at the tender age of 13 and has never looked back.
During his high school career he met fellow band member Bertie Coetzee and helped form Zinkplaat, who performed at all of South Africa's most loved festivals for over 10 years.
After the band split, Basson knew he had to pursue music further and thus The Violent Free Peace was born, with a focus on for blues rock.
The Violent Free Peace band has released two albums to date. The first EP was titled Shakedown and their more recent release, Testify, will have you believing in a higher power of good old-school boogie.
This is one band you don't want to miss live, and Knysnarians have just such an opportunity on Friday 19 April at Red Bridge Brewery at 19:00. Tickets R120 (adults) and R50 (children) through Quicket.
