KNYSNA NEWS - August is Women's Month and to introduce the month, the Knysna Music Society (KMS) welcomes a brand-new production by an all-female piano quartet called Take Four.
All four of these women have established themselves as outstanding performers in their respective fields and some members are names people will recognise as well-loved performers for the KMS.
"I am sure you will join me in welcoming to Knysna, Zanta Hofmeyer (violin), Susan Mouton (cello), Jean-Louise Moolman (viola) and Elna van der Merwe (piano)," said Leoni Hattingh of the KMS.
"The ensemble will give their passionate performance of Brahms' Piano Quartet in G minor, Opus 25, followed after the interval by Dvorak: Piano Quartet in E-flat major Opus 87."
The concert will start at 19:30 on Monday 1 August. If there is load shedding, organisers are well-prepared with solar lights, and "the show will go on". Tickets will be available at the door from 18:45 onwards.
Over and above their Knysna performance, Take Four will also be making a trip to Plettenberg Bay for a show on Friday 5 August at the St Peter Anglican Church between 17:30 and 20:00.
Tickets for this show are available on Quicket.
