The General Assembly will hold an informal meeting in the economic and social council chamber where the singer is due to speak.
A clothing collection will be held afterwards for those New Yorkers in need.
Volunteers have been asked to donate 67 minutes of their time to charities based there, in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
