PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS – Music lovers in and around Plettenberg Bay are in for a treat with one of the Garden Route's popular saxophonists putting on a show for a good cause.
As part of a fundraising initiative for SANParks, Jaco Kriek is set to add to the tranquil surroundings of the De Vasselot campsite in Nature's Valley with his soothing saxophone sounds.
He will swap the traditional stage for the forest next to the Groot River.
The concert will be held on 3 September between 17:00 and 22:00 and proceeds will go towards SANParks conservation efforts.
Kriek is a well-known name along the Garden Route. He not only knows his way around a saxophone, but is also a successful optometrist from Oudtshoorn.
Kriek's alter ego, JKSax, was born about seven years ago when he bought his first saxophone after falling in love with its sound through music he listened to. He didn't know how to play the instrument, but he was a natural and the saxophone soon became an extension of him.
Food and soft drinks will be for sale during the event and concertgoers are encou-raged to bring along a chair or picnic blanket for the occasion. Tickets can be bought through Quicket.
