KNYSNA ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The ever-wacky and popular Radio Kalahari Orkes returns to Knysna with their unique brand of quirk that has conquered many a sceptic, creating a countrywide cult following since their rise to fame many moons ago.
With iconic SA actor, storyteller and musician Ian Roberts as the band's frontman, anything can happen – and it does.
As they say on their website, "No dorp they have visited will ever be the same again."
With their considerable combined talents on accordion, fiddle, guitar, drums, castanets, mouth organ, pennywhistle and bass, they promise to shake Knysna up with "a little rock 'n' roll, ghoema, Latin and Africana music in a rainbow fusion".
Catch them at Bloo Bistro in Main Road on Thursday 11 July from 21:00 to 22:30 but be sure to book (by phoning 082 923 1185) and arrive early (dinner specials on the night), as their shows are always sold out and venues packed to the max. Tickets: R150 pp.
