KNYSNA NEWS - The brightest of Knysna's pearls were on show during the Miss Pearl Pageant Show at the Knysna Waterfront on Friday 30 June. Models of all ages took to the red carpet to vie for the 2023 Miss Pearl crowns.
The pageant made a welcome return to the Knysna Oyster Festival programme last year following a 13-year hiatus.
Organised by Charmaine Kruger of Garden Route Models, the pageant show featured 34 models from the Garden Route.
The four different categories ensured that models of all ages could compete - Mini Miss Pearl (0 to 10), Pre-teen Miss Pearl (11-14), Teen Miss Pearl (15-17) and finally, Miss Pearl (18+). The youngest participant was charming Loandré Olivier, who is only four years old.

The dazzling models shone bright in the afternoon sun on the waterfront, with some glowing in the golden hour as the sun began to set. It was quite a spectacle to behold, with patrons at the surrounding restaurants treated to excellent free seats.
