Organisers of the Knysna Literary Festival regret to inform ticket holders that Ferial Haffajee, editor of City Press, and Dr Mathews Phosa, are not able to attend the Knysna Literary Festival. Both authors were scheduled to participate in the “Fate of the Nation” discussion, which Haffajee was to chair. Haffajee was also on the discussion panel, “Criminalising Investigative Journalism”.
Although we are extremely disappointed, we are thrilled to announce that Adriaan Basson, recently appointed News24 editor-in-chief and author of Zuma Exposed, has agreed to take part in the “Criminalising Investigative Journalism” discussion, which will be chaired by Ivo Vegter. We have previously hosted Basson at the Festival and are delighted to have him back on the programme.
Our “Fate of the Nation” debate will now be facilitated by Ivo Vegter, who will be joined by RW Johnson, author of How Long Will South Africa Survive; Mzilikazi wa Africa, multi-award winning investigative journalist and author of Nothing Left to Steal; and Songezo Zibi, former editor of the Business Day, and author of Raising the Bar.
Considering the quality of these participating authors we have no doubt both panels will provide interesting and stimulating discussions.
