KNYSNA ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - With the fifth annual Knysna Blues Festival just around the corner, local promoters Better Live have revealed a killer line-up of artists who are set to rock the town's socks off.
At Blend on Saturday 21 December (12:00-21:00), the festival will bring an all-out explosion of blues and blues-rock music.
The list of seven artists reads like the who's who of blues in South Africa, with some of them performing in Knysna for the very first time.
These exceptional musicians include Michael Canfield (legendary USA drummer, and featuring a surprise guest), Georgetown (new), "Lonesome" Dave Ferguson (the enigmatic and energetic harmonica player and singer-songwriter), Nhoza (new), Gerald Clark (SA's stalwart blues musician), Black Water (new) and The Black Cat Bones (winner of the title "best live act in South Africa").
Says Jackie Barham of Better Live: "Our Blues Festival has become a 'must play' for any artist who performs in the genre and a 'must see' for locals and seasonal visitors. It's the feel-good event on the Knysna calendar and attracts people who want to experience seven different and unique bands, all inspired by the blues. We've gone all out with staging, huge stretch tents and even a dedicated menu for the day. It is going to be fantastic!"
