Harris' talk was based on her extensive research on royal roses - roses named for British royalty from King Arthur to the present day and included pictures of the British royal family and the many colourful royal roses.
Harris was raised in a family of rosarians. Her parents were presidents of the Federation of Rose Societies of South Africa. Following in her parents’ footsteps she was president of the Federation of Roses Societies of South Africa in 2006/7 and currently is president of World Federation of Rose Societies.
Harris is an accredited rose judge and is well known for her formal garden of 400 roses in Waverley.
Her talk was sponsored by Tuinroete Agri and held at Premier Hotel ‘The Moorings’, Knysna.
