SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The ninth annual Gourmets and Gourmands event, championed by Hartmans on behalf of Carpe Diem School, will take place on 26 August.

Each year this spectacular event lends the community of the Southern Cape the opportunity to give, and this year nine new restaurants will be giving in a big way alongside the other stalwarts.
Carpe Diem School is thrilled to have a variety of new restaurants on board for this year's Gourmets and Gourmands. SOUT (formerly Die Rooi Kombuis) from Barrydale is known for exceptional food, creativity and presentation combined with outstanding service. Nina's is situated in York Street George, and treast its patrons with fusion dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. De Hoft Restaurant at Déjà Vu, where this year's media launch was hosted, serves marvellous creations, accompanied by South African wines.
Tia Rosa is a true escape to the flavours and aromas of Portugal.
Signature Devine is situated in the middle of the picturesque Klein Karoo and specialises in unforgettable slow food. Lala's Vintage Bistro is a European style bistro serving gourmet French style food.
De Doornkraal HCH Boutique Hotel is situated in Riversdale and its guests enjoy fresh local fare, as well as more exotic dishes inspired by flavours from Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia and South Africa.
Situated in the heart of Oudtshoorn, the Black Swan is known for its Klein Karoo hospitality and mouth-watering food. Bistro Celeiro will for the first time put its "slow passion" on show at this year's event.
This family-run restaurant concentrates on freshly prepared, mostly locally sourced, slow food.
Each of the 19 participating restaurants will present gourmet dishes paired with wines from carefully chosen vineyards for the very first time.
